Clove essential oil is produced from the fruits or buds of the evergreen tropical plant cloves (Caryophyllus aromaticus or Eugenia caryophyllata) by steam distillation.

Contraindications : individual intolerance to essential oil components; do not use in case of increased nervousness, increased arterial pressure, pregnant women; overdose can cause severe skin irritation and excessive excitement.

Hippocrates was one of the first physicians to recommend the use of cloves. In some countries, cloves improve the work of the digestive tract and strengthen memory. Clove oil is a strong antiseptic. It is non-toxic and does not irritate the skin, so in the past surgeons used it to disinfect their hands and prepare the operating room.

Properties : tonic, stimulating, stimulates mental activity; increases immunity, regenerative, antiseptic, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, relieves pain, anti-allergic, relieves expectoration, normalizes the moisture and fat balance of the skin, increases its elasticity, good repellent.

In the household, it is especially notable for the fact that it repels mosquitoes and scares away moths (steam in a steam lamp, put the sprinkled rags in the closet). For centuries, clove essential oil has been used for toothache.

Masks
Add 1-2 drops of essential oil to one tablespoon of base (honey, vegetable oil, egg yolk, kefir, sour milk). Distribute the resulting mixture evenly on the skin, wash after 3-5 minutes with water diluted with lemon juice.

Hair care
Prepare the mixture (add 3-5 drops of essential oil to one tablespoon of vegetable oil-base), rub the resulting mixture into the scalp or spread it over the entire length of the hair, wrap the hair with a towel and leave it for 1-1.5 hours, wash it off with shampoo.

Steaming in an aroma lamp
Add 2-6 tablespoons of warm water to the upper container of the aroma lamp, add 3-15 drops of essential oil or their mixture (on average 1-2 drops for a 3 square meter room), then place a lighted candle in the lower container. The duration of the session is about 0.5-1.5 hours, 1-2 times a day for about 3 weeks.

Aromatic bath
Add 3-7 drops of essential oil to 1-2 tablespoons of sea or ordinary salt, cream, kefir, sour milk or 1 tablespoon of honey, bath foam, dilute with 0.5 liters of warm water and pour this mixture into a bathtub filled with water. The duration of the procedure is from 5 to 20 minutes.

Aromatic water for bath and sauna
Add 5-10 drops of essential oil to 1-2 tablespoons of sea or ordinary salt, cream, kefir, sour milk or 1 tablespoon of honey, dissolve the mixture in 500 ml of water. In saunas, use 1-1.5 l of aromatic water, which is sprinkled on shelves, shingles, and heated stones. In saunas, use 200-300 ml of aromatic water, which you place in an open container near heaters or heated stones. 3-5 minutes before the exit. you can add 1-2 spoons on the stones or sprinkle the walls. The duration of the procedure is 3-20 minutes. (increase gradually), no more than 1-2 times a week.

In case of toothache, put 1-2 drops of clove essential oil on a tampon moistened with essential vegetable oil and place it on the chewing surface of the painful tooth.
