Method of extraction: rose oil is extracted from Damask rose petals by extraction. Rose petals are collected from 5-10 am. in the morning at sunrise. In order to extract 1 kg of oil, 500-750 kg of rose petals must be harvested.
Smell : deep, sweet, floral. Extracted rose oil has a stronger smell than castor oil obtained by steam distillation. The oil extracted from damask rose petals is the most valuable in the perfumery industry, as it is one of the main components of expensive perfumes, like Christian Dior's fragrance masterpiece "Poison", which saw the world in 1985.
Traditionally, the rose is called the queen of flowers. Since ancient times, the rose has a unique and special aroma. They soaked rose petals in olive oil and thus obtained a body care product - "rose oil". The Arab scientist and physician Avicenna (980-1037 BC) first distilled essential oil from roses. In fact, Damask rose was one of the first plants successfully used for essential oil distillation. The production of rose absolute began only in the 19th century in Grasse, France, this city is famous for its perfumery industry. In the Islamic world, rose essential oil was considered to be the sweat of the Prophet Muhammad that fell to the ground when he was taken to heaven. The symbol of the rose, which has been very strong in the East since ancient times, has become exclusive in Islamic countries, as has the use of the rose itself - washing temples with rose water because it is believed to have purifying powers.
Rose oil has an exceptionally complex chemical composition, containing more than 300 known substances that make up about 86% of the oil by volume. The remaining 14% is made up of many different compounds, each present in very small amounts, but vital to the oil for both its aroma and properties. The chemical composition of oils extracted from different types of roses (rosa gallica, rosa centifolia) differs greatly.
In perfumery and cosmetics, rose oil is the main ingredient in the production of expensive perfumes. Rose oil is also very good for skin care. It is suitable for all skin types, but especially for dry, sensitive and aging skin. It is an excellent component of moisturizing cosmetic products. It improves all skin functions, softens, tones the skin, stops skin aging processes, smoothes wrinkles, especially under the eyes, increases skin elasticity and elasticity, eliminates inflammation, flaking, scars, constricts capillaries and, frankly, has a great effect on the entire blood circulation.
Rose oil can be mixed with essential oils of lemon, neroli and sandalwood and used to supplement cosmetic products for problematic skin. These essential oil blends are used for baths, massage and room aromatization.
Replenishment of cosmetic products
Mix 5 drops of rose oil or one mixture of oils with 10-15 ml of cream.
For facial skin care
To increase the elasticity and elasticity of the skin, to smooth out wrinkles, to eliminate swelling of the skin and darkening of the eyes (especially for the elderly), it is recommended to take facial steam baths and rub the skin with an aroma mixture with rose essential oil.
Cleansing rose lotion
Mix 1 teaspoon of 9% apple cider vinegar, 1 drop each of sandal and rose essential oils, add 100 ml of rose water and mix again.
Massage
Mix 2-3 drops of rose oil or one of the oil mixtures with 1 tbsp. spoon of any vegetable oil (olive, jojoba, almond, etc.) or cream of your choice.
Bathrooms
5-7 drops of rose oil or one of the oil blends, previously mixed with 1 tbsp. a spoonful of milk, honey, sea or table salt, add to a bath filled with water at a temperature of 37-38°C. The duration of the procedure is 10 - 20 minutes.
Room aromatization
Add 4-6 drops of rose essential oil or one of any oil mixture to an aromatic lamp filled with water, and light the candle in the lamp. The aroma will spread in the room. The duration of the procedure is 15 - 30 minutes.
Contraindications : individual intolerance to the smell of roses. Before using essential oils, it is necessary to check whether the inhaled or applied oil will not cause an individual allergic reaction!
