Patchouli essential oil is extracted from the young leaves of Patchouli Pogestemon cablin by steam distillation. This process takes about 36 hours, which is why the high price of this oil depends on it.

Patchouli is an herb of the valerian family, similar to mint or chanterelle. Grows to a height of 75 cm. It blooms with small pink or white flowers. Patchouli is native to tropical regions of Asia and is widely cultivated in China, Indonesia, India, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and West Africa. The best quality is considered to come from Indonesia.

Known for its insect repellent properties, it relieves the pain and itching of insect bites. Dried patchouli leaves were placed in clothes chests to repel moths. Patchouli leaves appeared in Europe in 1826 together with Indian fabrics.

Since the end of the 19th century, patchouli essential oil has been widely used in perfumery as an excellent odor fixer in oriental-type perfumes.

Patchouli oil has antibacterial, antiviral and antiseptic effects. It is used for the prevention of skin infections and fungal diseases. This oil reduces sweating. Has deodorizing properties.

Patchouli oil strengthens the elasticity of the muscles of the chest, abdomen and thighs. It has regenerating and astringent properties, so it promotes skin healing in case of inflammations and scratches. It has a positive effect on problematic scalp. Suitable for hair, especially for curly hair.

Aromatherapy specialists say that patchouli essential oil improves mental activity, suppresses fear, gives strength, determination, and a sense of self-confidence. This oil is an excellent aphrodisiac - it enhances sensuality, treats coldness and impotence.

Reduces appetite, so it can be used among complex measures against obesity.

When mixed in equal parts, it goes well with fragrant kangan, orange blossom, bergamot, jasmine and rose essential oils - this is how you get excellent aphrodisiacs. Combinations of this oil, mixed in equal parts with essential oils of jasmine and sedum (1:1:1), are used as a hormonal and emotional background regulating agent. These mixtures can be successfully applied to supplement cosmetics, massages, baths and aromatic lamps.

Replenishment of cosmetics :
Mix 5-7 drops of patchouli essential oil or a mixture of this oil with 10-15 g of cream or 10-15 ml of lotion, tonic, shampoo, etc.

Massage :
Mix 6-8 drops of patchouli essential oil or a mixture of this oil with 1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (jojoba, almond, grape seed, etc.) or cream of your choice.

Bathrooms :
Add 4-6 drops of patchouli essential oil or any mixture of these oils, pre-mixed with a tablespoon of milk, honey, sea or table salt, to a bath full of water (37-38 °C). The duration of the procedure is 10-20 minutes.

Room aromatization :
Add 3-5 drops of patchouli essential oil or a mixture of this oil to the water in the aroma lamp and light the candle. The smell will spread in the room. If there is no lamp, you can moisten a napkin with oil or put it in a cup of hot water and place it on a working radiator. The duration of the procedure is 15-30 minutes.
