This SKOTTSBERG® cast iron skillet has some fantastic unique features. The pan is pre-coated with vegetable oil. This pan was made of wear-resistant cast iron. The pan heats up slowly but retains heat for a long time.
This pan comes with a cast iron lid. This lid has "studs" on the inside to allow moisture to collect and drip back onto the ingredients. Therefore, moisture is constantly circulating in the pan, which means that the dish will remain extremely soft and juicy.
This pan is treated so it is rust and scratch resistant. This pan can withstand high temperatures. Therefore, it is perfect for frying thick pieces of meat, stewing meat, preparing mixed dishes, risotto or paella, making delicious frittatas and tortillas. This cast iron pan is suitable for any heat source and is also strong and durable. This pan can be easily used on an induction hob, on an open fire or in the oven (up to 250℃).
Using the pan: To prevent food from sticking to the bottom, it is important to follow these instructions: Before cooking, remove the ingredients from the refrigerator so that they come to room temperature. Place the pan on the heat source. Allow the pan to heat slowly over low heat. Add oil or butter only when the pan is hot. Melt the butter until it stops foaming or until the oil is warm. Let the ingredients that stick to the bottom cook gently without trying to loosen them. If necessary, reduce the heat of the fire a little and calmly wait for the food to come off the bottom by itself.
