Apply the paint. Step 3: Wait Put a cap on your hair and wait 30 to 40 minutes for maximum color intensity. Step 4: Rinse Remove the cap. Rinse your hair thoroughly with cool water while wearing gloves. (Cooler water helps keep colors vibrant).
