Method of extraction : the essential oil is extracted by water distillation from noble laurel trees Laurus nobilis leaves.

Smell : fresh and light, refined, with a base of camphor and a recognizable bay leaf spice.

Bay leaf oil should be used very carefully for skin care, only a small amount and be sure to check before use whether it causes an allergic reaction. Almost half of all ingredients are cineole, which has a high risk of skin irritation. Therefore, it is not recommended to exceed a concentration of 0.1% in cosmetic products.

Although the antibacterial properties of the oil can be compared to lavender and tea tree oil, bay leaf oil is almost not used as an antiseptic in cosmetics because it is better to use lavender or tea tree oils, which have a softer effect on the skin. But it is widely used as a natural preservative to extend the shelf life of some foods (fish and meat products).

Studies have found that bay leaf oil (at a concentration of 0.5 g/L aqueous emulsion) can be successfully used to protect plants against fungal infections and mold.

Usage :
✓ for face and body care - mix 2-3 drops of essential oil with 10 g of base (e.g. base oil - almond, grape seed, etc.)
✓ for hair care - mix 3-5 drops of essential oil with 10-15 g of base (e.g. base oil - almond, conditioner, etc.)
✓ baths – mix 3-4 drops of essential oil with 1 tablespoon of milk, honey, sea or table salt, add to a full bath of water. The duration of the procedure is 10-15 minutes.
✓ essential oils can be vaporized in a vaporizer or aroma lamps.

Contraindications : do not use in case of individual intolerance, pregnant women, children's skin care. Do not use pure oil for skin care. If you have sensitive skin, use with caution. Before using essential oils, it is necessary to check whether the inhaled or applied oil will not cause an individual allergic reaction!
