Like most retractable tape measures, the JIMI Home tape measure is equipped with 2 brakes on its retraction. At the bottom is a button that allows you to adjust the speed of the tape retraction or when you want to take a quick measurement. At the top is a switch which, when lowered down, locks the tape from retracting so that you can take a longer measurement or take off the measurements to save.
The tape itself has been coated with nylon on both sides, making it resistant to the abrasion of measures and numbers. In addition, it is flexible enough that it will not tangle or break during use. Unlike metal tapes, nylon has no sharp edges, so the possibility of cutting yourself has been minimised.
We often use tape to measure lengths from the outside in and from the inside out. Therefore, the metal end of the tape is not permanently mounted, in order to be able to compensate for the difference that its thickness creates and affects the final dimension.
Thanks to the hook on the side of the case and the elastic cord at the back, the tape can be hung as a measure on the edge of a pocket, the edge of a box or on a wrist or hanger in the workshop. This way you can always have it with you whenever you need it.
